For me, modern neurology means combining scientific knowledge and clinical experience with personalized care tailored to the individual.

I am a neurologist based in Frankfurt am Main and work at the neurological practice of Dr. Erol Kocdemir. On brainydoc.de, patients can find clear, scientifically sound information on neurological disorders, with a particular focus on multiple sclerosis, fatigue, and cognitive complaints.

As a specialist in neurology and intensive care medicine I am also a senior physician and head of a research group at the Department of Neurology at the University Medicine and Goethe University Frankfurt. I have many years of clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases such as stroke, migraine, polyneuropathies, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, dementias, and other neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases. My particular focus is on multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuroimmunology, including myasthenia gravis, NMOSD, MOGAD, CIDP, and vasculitis.

As a neurologist with a postdoctoral qualification (Habilitation) and doctorates in both medicine and psychology, I combine modern patient care with translational and clinical research. My experience as head of the neuroimmunology and MS outpatient clinic, as well as my own research group, is complemented by my work in a neurological-psychiatric practice, which gives me a deeper understanding of the concerns of those affected and their families. My scientific work focuses on cognitive disorders, fatigue, biomarkers and neuroplastic processes in chronic inflammatory diseases of the nervous system.
